Kg for Model Number RS2556SH Freezer is not freezing. I Took off the inside back cover to reveal the evaporator and ice was caked up all over it. Water will not come out of the water dispenser. The front panel light for the freezer flashes -4. The diagnostics light test (hold 2 power freeze/cool buttons) gave me error "11" or F-FAN error. So, I am not sure if it is the fan or a bad evaporator (which also failed in 2008) that I need to buy?
Answer KG, If the evaporator was completely impacted with ice then the issue will be a defrost issue. You would want to test the defrost sensor and make sure that it is good. The resistance should be 5k ohms at room temp of 77 degrees. If this checks ok then the issue will most likely be the control board. If the top of the coils are impacted with ice then the issue will be a faulty evaporator fan motor. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Tuesday, February 28, 2017
