Ca August 25, 2019 for Model Number RS267LBSH Refrig side was not getting cold now too cold whole compartment freezing up , fan not working on frig side but tests good, compressor seems to be running non stop, freezer side temp fine. Samsung side by side dual evap, Defrost heater tests bad but when I lookup part it is different than the one for my model and mine doesn't look can be purchased separately...riveted to drain plate.
Markus August 24, 2017 for Model Number RS265TDRS/XAA hello, i have the recurring issue of refridge side fan making noise, then stopping due to ice build up on the coils. i have defrosted and restarted the appliance, and the same issue occurs after a few days. no diagnostic codes are returned when setting the fridge into diagnostic mode, or forced defrost. two question: 1. i would rather replace the evaporator heater element *only* -- is it necessary to replace the evaporator coil also on this model? 2. the diagram seems to show the heater element as a separate part, which would allow me to replace diy. if it must be the evaporator coil, it seemingly cannot be done diy, is that correct?
Kg February 27, 2017 for Model Number RS2556SH Freezer is not freezing. I Took off the inside back cover to reveal the evaporator and ice was caked up all over it. Water will not come out of the water dispenser. The front panel light for the freezer flashes -4. The diagnostics light test (hold 2 power freeze/cool buttons) gave me error "11" or F-FAN error. So, I am not sure if it is the fan or a bad evaporator (which also failed in 2008) that I need to buy?
1 Answer KG, If the evaporator was completely impacted with ice then the issue will be a defrost issue. You would want to test the defrost sensor and make sure that it is good. The resistance should be 5k ohms at room temp of 77 degrees. If this checks ok then the issue will most likely be the control board. Susan June 13, 2016 for Model Number Samsung Refrigerator RS269LARS/XAA-0000 Hi, My Samsung refrigerator freezer -2 is cold and frig side is 60 degrees.I have opened the area and had to defrost it. And put back together.The temp never went back up it is back to 60. If I replace Evaporator DA96-00395C. That should take care of the problem right? But on You Tube it show to take the heater off and only replace it. But the part comes with the 2 pieces for the part. Can't you just replace the whole part? It seem like a waste of part & time. Is there a problem? Is there Freon in old piece & not in the new part?
1 Answer Susan, If the defrost heater on your evaporator is part of the evaporator and not a calrod heater then yes you could remove the heater from the evaporator and replace just it.
