Cindy for Model Number RB215LABP Ice maker was not producing ice. The ice tray would fill up, not empty the tray, then the water would overflow when it refilled emptying into the ice bucket. The ice bucket would be filled with solid ice no cubes. We ordered a replacement part (da97-00258e) but it did not fix the problem. The ice tray would not dump and cracked.
Answer Cindy, You will want to check the internal temperature of the freezer compartment to ensure that the temperature setting is -2 and that it is showing as a -2 in the unit. If the freezer temperature is getting too cold it will cause this issue. If the temperature is set for -2 but is getting colder than a -5 then the issue may be a sensor that has failed. Read More...
