Kurt Samsung RFG297ABWP/XAA: freezer not cooling enough. Only goes to 20+/- 5F. The display shows it does go to selected temp of -8F after running for up to 12 hours . Actual temp only 20F. (indication starts, out after unplugging at around 40-45F) I checked all sensors and they read within limits except the Refrigerator defrost sensor. The temp in the fridge is approx 41F. The sensor reads 1492 ohms. ( Fridge sensor= 1148 & Pantry is 10.92F. Is it possible this fridge defrost sensor reading too low could cause the problem (IE: sending the fridge into defrost mode while the freezer is trying to cool? Thanks, Kurt
Answer Kurt, The refrigerator sensor would not cause the issue with the freezer as they have 2 different evaporators. You will want to check the freezer evaporator for a frost pattern. There should be a even frost pattern top to bottom and if there is not then this would be a issue with the sealed system. If the frost pattern is overly heavy then this will be an issue with the defrost circuit on the freezer side.
