Barry B Gainsville , FL March 16, 2015 Appliance: Samsung Refrigerator RF267AEPN/XAA-0000 Freezing up with ice coming through the openings in the inside back panel Replaced the inside back panel which comes with a new fan. Seems the old fan had stopped working due to ice which burned it out. The drain tube was blocked and ice built up on the bottom plate. Using a basting tube from Walmart and hot water I thawed out the ice in the tube. The basting tube became much like a toilet plunger and cleared the line rapidly. Nothing else worked as fast. I then bought a one foot long piece of thin solid copper wire from Lowes and stripped the insulation off. I wrapped a couple of inches around the heating element and inserted about 1 1/2" down the drain tube. After a week of use there is no more ice build up. I also replaced the sensor. All total this cost about $104 which was about $200 in savings from having a repairman fix it. I had spent over four hours previously trying to fix it by defrosting and puring hot water from a cup. The real problem was the drain tube and a bad fan. However the DA97-07190G assembly cover had been redesigned slightly from my original four years old one. The basting tube and new part took less than two hours to fix it. Maybe an hour and a half total. Rob S Fort Thomas , KY December 13, 2014 Appliance: Samsung Refrigerator RF217ACPN/XAA The freezer would freeze up drip water into refrigerator then freeze refrigerator contents and had to be manually defrosted Ordered parts, defrosted refrigerator, and replaced with new items. This problem has been going on quite some time, while Samsung refused to acknowledge the defective unit, claiming it was owner fault. The defrosting had to be completed every 3-4 months and managed in time to require defrosting every few days. Originally a repairman came and although he defrosted it the first time, he informed us, this is quite common and the unit is defective by design; which is why we continued to defrost on a regular basis until it became too much. Trying this as last resort, so if this doesn't solve issue, we will have to replace unit. The replacing was fairly easy and would do it again if needed. Parts arrived quickly which was wonderful, can't say enough nice things about that experience. So far, so good, as refrigerator seems to be functioning as it did up until warranty ran out. Peter E Louisville , OH October 23, 2015 Appliance: Samsung Refrigerator RF267AERS/XAA-0001 Coil in refridgerator was frozen as possible drain sensor went bad After searching YouTube, found a problem others were having similar to mine. So I researched Google online and Appliance Parts Pros was one of the first searches listed and I went in to search for my parts. Called. Representative on the phone advised me it also could be the defrost sensor that may have caused the water to freeze and slowly leak down below the pullout drawer as it tried to defrost. So I ordered both the drain sensor and defrost sensor and replaced them. Working fine so far. Will have to wait and see in about 2 months to see if ice builds up again. Otherwise very helpful representative and over night delivery worked perfect!
