1 Answer

John, Your drain port is clogged under the evaporator and you will want to clean it out and get all the ice out. Then go to the back of the unit and clean out the drain tubes.

Rich, You would want to use the thermistor that the manufacturer recommends for your unit. There are a couple of differences in these but the biggest thing will be the connector may not work for plugging it up.

Steve, that is not likely on this model. I am guessing the compressor is not running or that you have a freon leak. You should look for your tech sheet and run diagnostics to help determine the issue.

Jon, These thermistors appear to be the same with the only difference that is seen is the length of the wires.

Joe, Check to make sure the fans and the compressor are running, then check the frost pattern on the evaporator assembly. The frost pattern should be a light even bit of frost from top to bottom. If the evaporator is fully impacted with frost you could have a defrost issue, or if it is only partially frosted or none at all you could have a sealed system issue.

Jack for Model Number RF263BEAESG/AA

We started to have issues with the pantry freezing up all the items in the pantry. I replaced the damper and this seemed to help for a little while. The items have not froze again but now the back panel with the coil is freezing and causing noise from the ice hitting the fan and the front door temp has not worked, always showing 80* when we have it set to 40*. The internal temp has been about 45* when measured with a thermometer. I have watched all three videos on replacing all three temp sensors...is this the correct approach to fix these issues?

Jack, the refrigerator sensor DA32-10105X would need to be tested to verify if they have failed or if there may be another issue. The sensor would be tested by unplugging the power cord, disconnection connector CN30, placing the black probe of a meter at connection 76 pin 1 (gray wire) and the red probe at connection CN30 pin 6 (the yellow wire that is next to pink wire). At 45°F, the resistance should be between 9,596 to 9,986O of resistance. The defrost sensor DA32-10104N would also need to be tested for resistance and would be best tested directly at the sensor so that an accurate temperature measurement can be gathered from where it sits (refrigerator sensor tested from control due to warm air rushing to the cabin and preventing accuracy).

Scott, this would indicate that the defrost drain on in the refrigerator has clogged and become iced up. To correct this, the evaporator panel would have to be removed, the ice in the drip pan cleared and hot water flushed through the drain hole until it pours down without backing up. In the back where the compressor and condenser are located, are two drain tubes that would need to be removed and cleaned as they collect dust and clog up, causing this issue.
