Roberto for Model Number RF28HFEDBSR

Hi, I owned a Samsung refrigerator model RF28HFEDBSR and I am having a problem where the temperature of the fridge is not cooling enough to keep my food fresh and becoming rotten. I have tried several times to stabilize the fridge temperature to 34 degrees, but the refrigerator doesn't seem to recognize the temperature changed made and goes back to reflect 57 degrees. I "think" it's a temperature sensor issue which is giving me the problem, but I will like for someone from your team to let me know what would you recommend of me doing or what else could be the problem. Thank you for your time and prompt response.

Answer

Roberto, the displayed temperature switching to the higher temperature is the control displaying the temperature it senses. It would be recommended that the defrost heater is tested for resistance at the main control. From the connection CN70 pin 1 (white wire) to pin 3 (gray wire) the resistance should measure 120O. If there is not a resistance reading, this would indicate that there is an open circuit in the heater assembly DA47-00244U. If the resistance is good, then next step would be to inspect the evaporator frost pattern in the refrigerator. Care will need to be taken as the foam insulation on the evaporator cover can be damaged if there is an ice accumulation.
