Jim for Model Number RF263TEAESR/AA I am working on a samsung refrigerator model RF263TEAESR/AA . Soon after it in use the upper ice maker started frosting up and didn't work. We stopped using it, but it still frosts up enough to fill the ice maker compartment. I wonder if the water valve to that ice maker is leaking. Along with this issue, it has now started freezing things in the refrigerator compartment. The latest temperature was 26 degrees. Could this be caused by a temp. sensor? And where would I find it and which one would it be? I see a pantry sensor and a temperature sensor. Thanks.
Answer Jim, I believe you have two separate issues going on. The issue in the fresh food ice maker is the air from the refrigerator compartment is being sucked in to that area and since it has moisture in that area it causes ice when pulled into the ice maker area. If you remove the ice bucket you will see a gap down the left side and thats always where it pulls air from. Manufacturer suggests you seal that with a safe silicone and let dry before use. I know techs that have sealed the whole outside of the ice box and to my knowledge did not have any further issues. As far as the temps in the refrigerator it is most likely a thermistor out of spec. We will send you a temp chart to use and simply find the temp you think your at and the resistance is right beside it. On the control board use connector CN 30 pin 6 [white wire and CN 76 pin 1 [grey wire] for your resistance test. That sensor will be in the rear cover of the refrigerator. Read More...
