Devin for Model Number RF23HCEDBSR/AA-13

My Samsung refrigerator is freezing everything in the refrigerator compartment. The freezer seems to be working fine. However, when I check the resistances of the five temp sensors. the FZ-Sensor (CN30-4, which appears to be for the freezer) is the only one that isn't give an Ohm reading. CN30-4 is open, CN30-5 is 20KOhm,CN30-6 is 10KOhm, CN30-8 is 15KOhm, and CN30-9 is 10KOhm. Could the FZ-Sensor (CN30-4) be what is making the refrigerator malfunction even though it is in the freezer?

Answer

Devin, as the freon flowing through the freezer evaporator will flow through the refrigerator evaporator as well, the freezer calling for more cold air will cause the refrigerator evaporator to be colder. This can cause the ambient temperature to be colder than normal in the refrigerator. A failed thermistor can certainly cause this issue.
