Carl for Model Number RS2555SL/XAA The front door controls appear normal except that randomly as if a person was pressing the fridge side temp button the system is going through temp selections with beeps. Just like you were standing there pushing the button. It does this randomly for a while and stops, then does it again at its own choosing. The unit seems to be cooling on both sides just fine. None of the buttons will do anything when actually pressed. When I unplug the unit and wait 5-10 minutes and plug it back in, the display all lights up for a moment and then a "3" will appear. I do not get any other kind of display such as an "8" segment. I'm guessing that the "3" is telling me the Fridge Defrost Sensor is bad??? What part do I need and is this the one located in the lower back of my fridge side behind the panels? Thanks, Carl
Answer Carl, based on the information provided, the most likely issue is going to be with the dispenser control DA41-00204C. Unfortunately, the manufacturer has discontinued this part and it is no longer available. In regards to the defrost sensor, the refrigerator defrost sensor DA32-10105R is going to be located behind the evaporator cover panel and is normally on the right side of the evaporator.
