Gary for Model Number RS2630SH Hi , I have the reverse problem of most of the questions on the website . my refrigerator is nice and cold with the setting in the middle the freezer is on the coldest setting and is hanging around 10 degrees and I'm told it should get below zero . do you think it could be the temp sensor or the mother beard ? The freezer seems to run between 10 and 15 degrees .
Answer Gary, You will want to check the evaporator coil in the freezer to see if it is frozen up and make sure that the evaporator fan motor is working. If the coils are impacted with ice then test the defrost heater and defrost thermistor to make sure that they are good. If they check ok then the main board would be the issue. You will also want to test to make sure that the evaporator fan motor is working in the freezer which would have to be checked with the door switch closed because the fan shuts off when the door is open.
