Chris September 14, 2023 for Model Number RB215LASH I have ice buildup on back of fridge Samsung RB215LASH. Postings advise checking and replacing sensors and thermal fuses. Would like to have them on hand when dismantling and uncovering fridge evaporator coils. Question: what are the fridge and freezer temp sensors? See DA32-1015R, DA32-105S, and DA-32-105T.
1 Answer Chris, the refrigerator and freezer evaporators will use the thermistor DA32-10105R and thermal fuse DA47-00095E. Read More...
Brandon June 09, 2021 for Model Number RSG307AARS/XAA-01 I have condensation inside the fresh food side. I notice it on the food, juice bottles, milk bottles, other food containers and also on the shelves and later on it becomes water on top shelves as well as bottom shelves. What could be causing this problem? The door gasket seems fine, door closes okay and stays shut when it's closed.
1 Answer Brandon, Based on the information provided this sounds like an air leak somewhere, a gasket, a door not closing, and/or a dispenser or something is not closing all the way. Read More...
Ron February 16, 2021 for Model Number RF4287HARS I had ice in the back of the refrigerator so I removed the back panel, cleared the ice and replaced the defrost sensor as the resistance was about 10x what it should be. Now the fridge cools and fan works but other than the very back of the refrigerator the temperature only reaches 50 degrees, any idea what it could be. Also where does the temperature reading on the digital display come from, the defrost sensor or is there one somewhere else.
1 Answer Ron, Based on the description I would check the evaporator for a proper frost pattern. If only a portion of the evaporator has a frost pattern then you could have a sealed system issue. If it is a sealed system then you will need an EPA certified technician for those repairs. Read More...
Nelson November 23, 2020 for Model Number RF24FSEDBSR/AA The temperature display on the screen is continuously flashing. The food in the refrigerator section is freezing and I cannot control the temperature. I removed the inside cover but no ice present. Would this be the temperature sensor or the temperature thermistor?
1 Answer Nelson, We can test the temp sensor DA32-00033C to see if it is still within specs. Resistance depends on temperature and is as follows. At 32 degrees the resistance should be 13290 ohms and 38 degrees will be 11500 ohms. If the sensor is within specs then the control would need to be replaced.DA94-02275B Read More...
Chris June 16, 2020 for Model Number RB215LABP Refrigerator works fine reads 34 on display, freezer only cools down to 5
1 Answer Chris, You will want to check the sensor on the unit to make sure that it is good. You will also want to check to make sure that the evaporator has a good frost pattern. If the frost pattern is good then this will be a faulty control board. Read More...
Victor September 04, 2019 for Model Number rb1855sl Condenser fan went out. Kept small fan on back of fridge until part arrived. Replaced the fan and since then it will cool, the temp readings remain at -2 for freezer and 38 for fridge, but it stops cooling. After I unplug and plug back in, it shows actual temp, much higher and then cools until about 24 hours later now. Previously it would work fine for days, seems to be getting shorter and shorter time it works correctly. I have replaced the main board and there has been no change. Any ideas?
1 Answer Victor, you may want to inspect the frost pattern of the evaporators to ensure that they are not congested with ice build-up as this can cause the unit to not cool properly. If this occurs, the defrost system would need to be inspected for any failures. Read More...
Jojo June 03, 2019 for Model Number Samsung RTQBSL Hi! What is the problem if ice build up in evaporator? The fan is not working but when i check the fan motor it is ok. And the freezer thermistor open/no resistance. But the evaporator thermistor has resistace.
1 Answer Jojo, the freezer thermistor should not read open. This would indicate either the sensor is bad or that there is a wiring issue depending on where the resistance was checked from. If the sensor read open where it plugs into the freezer wall, then the sensor is bad. As it is reading no resistance, the control is not able to properly read what temperature the freezer is at. This will cause the control to attempt to cool the freezer down to temperature constantly, thereby causing frost build up. Read More...
Bill February 26, 2019 for Model Number Samsung RS25h5111SR/AA The freezer works fine at set temp. Compressor and fans seem to cycle on and the condensing coils are dust free. The fridge somehow got switched into demo mode and we lost all of the food inside. When switched back on, the freezer was ok but the fridge would not cool below about 50-55 degrees F. Thawed the fridge for a day unplugged. powered back up and the fridge would not cool below 55 degrees F after about 8-10 hours. Sometimes it cools to the set point and then rises to 50-55 degrees intermittently. The freezer always works ok and makes ice ok. My wife is fed up and wants me to throw this one out and go with another brand. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also, how to you go into diagnostic mode on the panel?
1 Answer Bill, Check the evaporator to make sure that it is not frosted or iced up. If it is not check to make sure that the fan motor is running. Test the thermistor in the refrigerator to make sure that it is good. The evaporator should have a even frost pattern top to bottom and if it is impacted with ice then this would cause the issue and would need to test the defrost heater, defrost thermostat and defrost sensor to make sure that they are good. George February 02, 2019 My samsung mod# LMX25964ST is only keeping the fridge and freezer compt. at about 45-50f. Took it apart and measured freezer sensor at 3.2k ohms. Measured sensor in defrost evap coil area at 15k. Both at room temp, defrost might have been a bit cooler air temp. with fridge off for a wile and testing while still on unit. Do you think the thermistor sensors are bad or just one? Thanks.
1 Answer George, The sensors sound like it may be correct except the defrost sensor is high on resistance. You would want to check to make sure that the evaporator coils in the freezer have a full even frost pattern so you will want to turn the unit on and let it run for 24 hours then check the coils. If they do not have a full even frost pattern then this will be a sealed system issue and will need service. Read More...
Lino December 26, 2018 for Model Number RS253BAWW/XAA Display on my fridge is always at 38 and working fine. Dispaly on Freezer shows between 11 - 50 and keeps jumping around. Freezer contents seem to be frozen. I have tried to power freeze it to -2 and tried unplugging but still having issues. What parts if any do you think i will need to repair this? Thanks
1 Answer Lino, It would be recommended to check the frost pattern on the evaporator to make sure that it has a full frost pattern. If the coils are impacted with ice then this will be a defrost issue in which you will test the sensor and the heater to make sure that they are good. If this checks ok then check the freezer sensor to make sure that it is good. If these check ok then it will most likely be a control board issue. Read More...
