Victor for Model Number rb1855sl

Condenser fan went out. Kept small fan on back of fridge until part arrived. Replaced the fan and since then it will cool, the temp readings remain at -2 for freezer and 38 for fridge, but it stops cooling. After I unplug and plug back in, it shows actual temp, much higher and then cools until about 24 hours later now. Previously it would work fine for days, seems to be getting shorter and shorter time it works correctly. I have replaced the main board and there has been no change. Any ideas?

Answer

Victor, you may want to inspect the frost pattern of the evaporators to ensure that they are not congested with ice build-up as this can cause the unit to not cool properly. If this occurs, the defrost system would need to be inspected for any failures.
