Dj for Model Number MVWX655DW Washer is 3 years old tomorrow. Experiencing a very loud squealing, almost alarm type noise when getting to agitator mode. The repairman has come three times and replaced the splutch. As soon as he ran the washer the same thing happened. Checked the splutch and the same thing. The part was "chewed up" along the plastic edges. They reordered the part and are going to replace again in a couple of days. This has been going on for three weeks. Do you think this is the part to solve the problem?
Answer DJ, if the splutch gear teeth are getting damaged repeatedly, the most likely issue is that the shift actuator W10913953 is most likely not fully shifting the splutch into place.
