My icemaker stopped making ice and doesn't appear to be cycling at all. I make sure the water supply wasn't frozen. I purchased the control assembly and installed it, but nothing at all is happening. Nothing seems to cycle and there is no water coming through. What would be the next step? I don't know how to test continuity of the water valve, but wouldn't the ice maker cycle even if the water isn't flowing? I'm thinking the next step would be the thermostat, but don't want to spend another $70 if that's not the problem. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Chris, If you have already replaced the emitter board that is on the side wall of the freezer then the next thing you will want to check is the icemaker itself. You will want to pull the icemaker out of the unit and remove the front cover and the motor module. Look on the back of the module for a burn mark on the contacts paying particularly close attention to the one on the right lower side as you look at if from the back. If these contacts are burnt then you will want to replace the icemaker. If there are no burnt contacts and the pins in the center of the motor module large wheel are not broken then check the fill tube at the top of the freezer to make sure that there is no ice in it. If there is then clean out all the ice and replace the water valve. If not then the icemaker would be the best option to replace.
