Whirlpool WP4317852 Alumilastic Cement OEM Part

I used your online troubleshooting tips and watched the videos on your site. I determined my thermostat was defective, ordered the thermostat which arrived in two days and I replaced the thermostat and I now have a full bin of ice !!! The do it yourself video was extremely helpful and made the repair very easy. Thanks so much for the great service and quick delivery !!!

SO I FIGURED THAT ALL THE MECHANICAL PARTS OF IT WERE FINE SO THE LOGICAL THING TO DO WAS TO REPLACE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS WHICH CONSISTED OF THE THERMOSTAT {THE BRAIN} AND THE CONTROL MODULE WHICH I PURCHASED AT A VERY REASONABLE PRICE . I REASSEMBLED THE UNIT AND IT HAS BEEN WORKING LIKE NEW EVER SINCE. THANK YOU!

It was a relatively easy fix and the video instructions on this site provided were helpful. The one piece that wasn't clear is the alumilastic was already on the replacement part so a separate tube is not required. That wasn't clear on the video and was an unneeded expense.

Using online information about test ports I was able to narrow the problem down to either the thermostat or the motor/control module. To cover my bases I ordered both parts plus the alumilastic adhesive that is needed for the thermostat replacement. Removing this particular icemaker without removing the freezer shelves is a bit of a contortionist job, but it is possible with patience. Indeed, the motor/control module was at fault since one of the heater contacts had burnt/melted. Replaced the module and the thermostat and reinstalled and we were back in business.

After reading other owners' experiences, I learned that the leak in my icemaker was due to an old and disintegrating Ice Mold. I watched the video, order the part and replaced the Ice mold and my ice maker is back in business and NO LEAKS!! Yah. Thanks all saved me tons of money.
