Larry for Model Number 10657032600 Freezer is -20 degrees F, but the refrigerator is 54 degrees F. Replaced he Thermostat (Cold Control) Part # WP2315562 as suggested by AppliancePartsPros.com advisor. Problem persists. Doesn't appear to be a door leak because after opening the freezer door, and then closing it, the refrigerator door requires much more effort to open. Before replacing the part there was no ice buildup on the coils in the freezer side. There was no ice blocking the return vent in the refrigerator side, and the refrigerator is empty. When I replaced the Cold Control I had to remove the cover from the damper and saw that there was a narrow opening (3/4 inch) which appears to be the door controlled by the freezer temperature control in the refrigerator side as I could see it move when adjusting the freezer temperature. When viewing your video on replacing the damper control it looked like there were two doors in the damper control. Could the damper control be the problem since the freezer seems too cold and the refrigerator is too warm?
Answer Larry, there are two ports in the damper WPW10151374 that are opened or closed by a single door. The damper would need to be inspected to identify if it is able to open and close manually. If it can, it would be likely that the evaporator fan WP2315549 has weakened and can not circulate the cold air properly based on the information provided. Read More...
