Kate for Model Number Whirlpool WTW5200VQ2 The washer will only work with cold water. When I switch the knob from cold to hot, it still stays cold. I am not sure if it is the switch on the top of the washer or a valve located on the back of the washer. I can shut off the cold water into the washer and just let hot water into the unit, and I will get hot water. Do you have an idea as to which part it would be?
Answer Kate, The first check needs to be at the fill hoses and valve, they both have debris screens, that can clog with sediment and debris in the pipes. Disconnect the hoses, and clean the screens.
