Dorothy for Model Number ETW4400XQ Is there any way to get a tub full of hot water? When I set the dial to Hot Wash/Cold Rinse, hot water comes on but VERY quickly changes to cold and the tub is full of barely warm water when done filling. I thought the washer temperature control switch may be faulty so I purchased and installed a new one but nothing really changed. So what I have to do to get a tub of hot water is to reverse the hoses on the back with cold tap connected to hot on machine back and hot connected to cold. I then have to set the dial for cold wash with cold rinse to get a tub full of hot water. Is there anything else that controls the water temperature other than the control switch I purchased?
Answer Dorothy, the hot wash water temperature should be 105°F when it is filled up. As the temperature switch has been changed out, if the water does not reach 105°F, the thermistor in the valve assembly WPW10144820 would be the likely cause of failure. Read More...
