Dave for Model Number mlg2000aww Hello i have replaced my timer and machine contorl board for a machine that doent advance i have been reading the the water valve being clogged will cause that issue. I removed the pressure hoses from the machine and found debris in the cold line. Cleaned the screeb and still not advancing, should i goa ahead and throw a valve at it?
Answer Dave, The way that machine is designed, your washer shut be shutting down(off) if the control board doesn't see the voltage or circuit resistance within a certain amount of time, the machine control will open the line relay and shut off. I wouldn't go with a fill valve, at this point, but you will need to check the water level switch and airdome hose, inside the washer cabinet on the rear wall. You should also check all the wiring in the two multi plugs on the side of the tub(one on each side of the tub). and the connections at the machine control board and timer. a loose connection or wire can wreak havoc on you.
