  • Secures the door hinge arm to the oven/range frame
  • Maintains door alignment to help the gasket seal properly
  • Supports smooth opening/closing and prevents the door from disengaging
  • Common symptoms: door won't close fully, door sags or feels loose, hinge won't engage or the door detaches easily
What's included: 1 hinge receptacle bracket Install notes:
  • Disconnect power (and gas, if applicable) and allow the appliance to cool completely
  • Remove the oven door and support it to prevent damage
  • Access the receptacle at the frame; remove mounting screws, install the new receptacle using existing hardware, and tighten securely
  • Check door alignment and operation before returning the unit to service

Armand for Model Number ww27430P

Sometime ago I replaced both Oven Door Hinges on my Jennair double oven, however it still does not close the oven door tightly. In fact the gap is so wide that the oven light switch does not turn the light off. I read elsewhere that I should have also replaced the Hinge receptical. Is Hinge recptacle assembly part #AP4096704 the correct part for this purpose? The picture of the part doesn't help to identify it's use. If not, what do I need to correct this problem? Thanks

Answer

Hello Armand, Whether this correct the issue will depend on the nature of the door hinge failure. I'm not meaning to confuse you but, sometimes the hinge receptacle WP74008015 will correct the issue and sometimes the inner door liner, (71002968 for a 10 series and 2402W264-19 for a 14 series), has a warp in it from downward pressure being applied with the door opened. Most of the time the nature of the failure can be determined with a yardstick or other straightedge. To make the determination, open the oven door and lay the straightedge on the door from the hinge to the top of the oven door. It should lay flat against the door liner. If it will "rock" because the door liner is not straight, the door liner is the issue. If it does lay flat, the receptacles will correct the issue. As a note, the series number is the first two digits of the serial number. Also, the part for the 10 series shows dis-continued so we cannot get it. If you do an online search, there are still several places online that show the part in stock, so if you need it, it may still be possible to obtain one.
