Cindy July 23, 2019 for Model Number PRG3000P The oven door was removed with out the hinges being locked and now we are having trouble getting the door back on the unit. Are we supposed to force the top hinge down in order to use the locking mechanism? Any advice will be helpful. Thanks!
1 Answer Cindy, Yes, You will need to "force the hinge down" and lock the hinge into position to install it into the hinge receptacle. You may find it easier to place the door face down on a padded surface on a table. Use a block of wood or plastic to force the hinge arm down until you can slide the lock mechanism up and over the lock tab on the bottom of the hinge arm, then install the door assembly into the receptacle and unlock the hinge arm. Cindy July 23, 2019 for Model Number PRG3000P Hinge receptacles for my model are no longer available, however the hinges are still being sold. Is it possible to use a total different set of hinges/receptacles used for a different model?... wondering if you change them all out, the new system will do the same job.
1 Answer Hello Cindy, if any other hinge receptacle would fit your model then the part number would have subbed to it, The original part is no longer available from the manufacturer. Read More...
James May 29, 2018 for Model Number WW30430P Need to replace the hinges on both doors. I have read that I should also replace the hinge receptacle assembly (WP74008015). Is this necessary. Also I need instructions (Video) in how to install the assembly.
1 Answer Hello James, You will need to order two WP74008015 for the model provided. To change the receivers you will need to pull the unit out far enough to access the receivers from the sides. Some units will have a panel that will have to be removed to access them. Others will be visible when the unit is pulled out. Two screws are removed from the front frame panel to remove them. Installation is in the reverse order. I'm sorry but we could not locate a video or any written instructions from the manufacturer on the changeout procedure for these parts. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Read More...

Charles May 17, 2017 for Model Number JJW9627CAS One of the oven doors will not shut tightly, so that the light is always on. I've had the hinges replaced by a technician, but that did not correct the problem. He mentioned nothing about replacing the receptacles, but everything I've read says they should be the next area of investigation. Is it likely they will need to be replaced (part WP74008015), or would simply reseating the original receptacles be likely to be sufficient?
1 Answer Charles, The hinge receptacle would be the next likely part that would cause the door to not fully close. Read More...
Tucan January 03, 2017 for Model Number JDS9860AAP Door not closing, oven light stays on. Found hinge on left side not pulling door tight to opening. Will replacing 1 side hinge correct this problem? Apppliance pros says it's a do-it-yourself project, but no where is there a diagram showing how to accomplish replacement of hinge. Suggestions?
1 Answer Tucan, No, you want to replace both hinges and both receptacles. Here's some information : Remove power from unit. 2. Remove unit from installation position, Remove oven door, Remove front side trim. Remove the top and bottom screws securing hinge receiver to the front frame. Remove hinge receiver from oven chassis. Reverse procedure to reinstall oven door hinge. You also want to clean the oven door gasket with hot soapy water and a soft scrub cloth or brush, then put the oven through a self clean cycle to "reset" the gasket to the oven cavity opening. Is there a manual or set of directions to help pull out the oven a bit so that the receptacles may be repaced?
1 Answer Hello Ed, If you open the doors and remove the screws retaining the oven to the cabinets, you should be able to slide the unit out about 6 inches or so to access the hinge receptacles. Read More...
