By: Whirlpool
Part Number: OEM18032031
Manufacturer Part Number: WP71001799

This is an oven control board and clock manufactured by Whirlpool. It allows the user to adjust temperature, change oven function, set timers, and more. While the control board is designed to be durable, it can fail over time through exposure to moisture or high temperatures. When the oven control board begins to fail, it will not respond to user input, or may respond incorrectly. Replacing the control board is the only option to restore functionality. To replace it, turn off the power or unplug the oven. Remove the four screws holding the control board in place and disconnect the wires. Install the new board by following these steps in reverse. This is a genuine OEM part. It is sold individually, and fits Whirlpool, Roper, and Amana branded ovens.

Jeremy for Model Number SCE30600B

My jenn-air bottom element went out and I took it out ot get replace and made the mistake of plugging It back In so we could use the stove top but had a brain fart and turned oven on. After 10 minutes I heard a pop and smelled burnt wire. After inspection I seen the the broil wire in back that hooks to the top element had burnt marks around it. And so I hooked both elements back up and plugged it back in and now nothing work stove-top oven light-nothing!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Im afraid I turned a 60 dollar element fix into a bigger one?!?

Answer

Jeremy, Hopefully it's only a tripped breaker due to the loose wires to the element. The top burner elements ans switches are a direct line to the terminal block, and not associated to the relay board W10757086 or oven control WP71001799, so reset the breakers/fuses and recheck for 220-240 VAC to the range outlet and terminal block of the range. Once you get the elements and wiring installed if you still have an issue, suspect the relay board on the back of the range, relay contacts don't react well to direct shorts to ground.
