Mike for Model Number ghw9150pw0 My machine runs a partial drain/spin cycle then a 02 code flashes; and the machine is frozen or the machine shows "sud" and is frozen. What is causing this?
Answer Hello Mike, The F-02 fault code is for a long drain. The service manual says this: Long Drain If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes, the water valves are turned off and “F/02” is flashed. Press PAUSE/CANCEL twice to clear the display. NOTE: After 4 minutes the “Sud” error will be displayed, then 4 minutes later the F/02 error code will be displayed. Potential Causes • Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked • Check the electrical connections at the pump and make sure the pump is running. • Check the drain pump filter for foreign objects • If the above does not correct the problem replace the pump. SUDS LOCK (Overdose of Detergent detected during the Wash Cycle) The motor control unit senses a suds lock condition by analyzing the current draw on the drive motor. If “Sud” is displayed a potential suds lock is detected. This may signify a bad pump, an extra heavy load, excessive detergent, or excessive suds. Most likely you have debris in the drain pump 280187. This will generate both codes. First you need to discontinue the power supply to the unit. Then remove the bottom panel off of the washer. Remove the big screw in plug from the front of the pump assembly. If the machine has water in it, you may want to have a bucket handy to catch what you can. Most of the time, clearing any debris from the sump area in this way will solve the issue. In other cases, the pump requires replacement. Read More...
