Linda E February 03, 2018 for Model Number GHW9150PWO I just changed the door lock mechanism along with the latch on the door. Washer didn’t respond at first but then miraculously I was able to wash 2 loads. On the 3rd load we’re back to the clicking and no locking. Just clicks and then gives the dL fault. What’s next? Do I need to install A new control board?
1 Answer Linda, You will want to check the wiring of the unit and if this checks ok then the issue will be a faulty control board. Read More...
Drm January 10, 2017 for Model Number GHW9150PW0 A couple years ago I was getting door lock error code. Replaced door lock. Still got door lock error code, but not that often. Checked wires & connections to CCU and no issues. Now it is doing it more frequently again. By tapping CCU (with washer top panel removed), it clicks and starts up every time on the first tap. Is there a relay in the CCU? Just seems like there must be one (and therefore replacing the CCU makes sense), or do I need to go back and check the wires & connections again?
1 Answer DRM, Yes, there are "mini relays" on the CCU board. Based on your information, the CCU is the most likely problem. But first you do need to check the wiring at bothe the door latch assembly and the CCU. Make sure the terminals and connectors aren't corroded or dirty and the connector pins are seated properly and tightly on the board and switch connectors. Read More...
Mark B February 13, 2016 for Model Number GHW9150PW4 My washer just shuts off randomly, no power, no lights, no display,no error codes displayed. after shutting off it wont turn on unless you unplug the power. I ran diagnostic mode and it shut off when it finished c8 once and ran it again and it shut off after c3. my guess is the ccu?? any suggestions.
1 Answer Mark, Yes the CCU would be the most likely cause for the unit just shutting off randomly. The CCU part number is WP8182695. Read More...
Chickory August 08, 2015 for Model Number GHW9150PW0 We keep getting the F02 code. The first time, there was a color catcher sheet caught in the filter. The 2nd time, there was a small amount of dog fur in the filter. The 3rd time, there was nothing trapped in the filter. Is there a drain sensor that could be bad? If not, what tells the machine that it is not draining? I think the problem is not in the filter not draining but in some signal telling the machine that the filter is too full, or something like that. The drain hoses are not kinked. Help!
1 Answer Chickory, The unit is told that it is not draining by the pressure switch. If the pressure switch is not reading a drop in the water level this tells the unit that it is not draining. You will want to check the pressure hose and switch. Also if the unit is not draining then would need to check the drain pump impeller. Read More...
Brian March 08, 2015 for Model Number GHW9150PW1 I got the F05 code. Checked the temp sensor at room temp about 60 degrees. Meter showed 0 ohms. Order a new sensor, it didn't fix the problem. Would guess the ccu next.
1 Answer Hello Brian. Possible Causes / Procedure 1. Unplug washer or disconnect power. 2. Check the water temperature sensor. Check connections to the water temperature sensor. 3. Check resistance of heating element, if present on this model (abnormal = infinity). Read More...
Kerby March 01, 2015 for Model Number GHW9150PW4 I was washing clothes and when I went to take out the load, the door was locked. I tried turning the washer on, but I get nothing. I checked the outlet for power and thats good. I plugged it back in and can hear a clicking noise coming from the control board. (I took the top off so I know where the noise is coming from) Do you think the control board is bad, and is there a way to unlock the washer to get my stuff out?
1 Answer Kerby, Yes it does sound like the issue will be in the control board that is causing the unit to not operate. If you remove the lower panel in the front and reach up inside where the lock is located there will be a tab at the bottom that you pull to release the door lock. Read More...
Marty November 15, 2014 for Model Number whirlpool duet washer While washing a load of clothes.. I heard a loud noise, like something really tore up.. went in to check and machine had quit and F11 was flashing..and machine had a burned wiring smell coming from it ...any ideas?
1 Answer Marty, The F11 error code on Duet washers usually indicates a communication error between the CCU and the MCU. " F11 Serial Communication Error Communication between the Central Control Unit(CCU) and the Motor Control Unit(MCU) cannot be sent correctly." You'll need to remove the lower access panel and the top panel and check for damaged wires or something having come loose and damaged the wiring or boards. The failure doesn't always include a loud noise, but a burnt wire smell can accompany a board or motor failure. Read More...

Julienne September 17, 2014 for Model Number GHW9250ML2 Hey, Right after my washer start filling up with water the F-H code shows up. Is there something wrong with the CCU? Thanks so much! Julienne
1 Answer Hello Julienne. Possible Causes / Procedure ¦ If there is no water in the unit: — Make sure that both valves at the water source(s) are turned on all the way. — Check for plugged or kinked inlet hoses or plugged screens in the inlet valves. — Verify inlet valve operation. ¦ If there is water in the unit: — Verify drain pump operation. — Verify that the pressure switch hose is in good condition and properly connected to tub and pressure switch. 1. Verify there is not a siphon problem. 2. Unplug washer or disconnect power. 3. Verify wire harness connections to inlet valves, pressure switch, drain pump, flow meter, and Central Control Unit (CCU). 4. Check all hoses for possible leaks. 5. Plug in washer or reconnect power 6. Verify pressure switch operation. 7. Verify flow meter operation by blowing air through the part and measuring the resistance. 8. Verify CCU operation by running a Diagnostic test or any cycle Read More...
Ews July 17, 2014 for Model Number GHW9150PW1 What does it mean when my washer shows F11...does it mean that the computer board needs replacing?
1 Answer Hello EWS. Communication between the Central Control Unit (CCU) and the Motor Control Unit (MCU) cannot be sent correctly. Possible Causes / Procedure 1. Unplug washer or disconnect power. 2. Check wire harness connections to the MCU, the motor, and Central Control Unit (CCU). 3. Check the drive system for any worn or failed components. 4. Plug in washer or reconnect power. 5. Verify CCU operation by running a Diagnostic test or any cycle. 6. Check the MCU by looking for operations of the drive motor. 7.
