David H for Model Number KHMS2056SSS-2 I just received my new touchpad control board, part number WP8206635, from you today. I installed the part and the screen lights up but the touch pad does not respond to any touch commands. I don't know if the part is defective or if I did something wrong in the installation. Before I installed the new part the screen would respond to touch but it was going crazy beeping, changing screens all the time and even turning itself on at times. Can you give some advice on how to proceed. My order number is 7255587-6604400. I also ordered a new Elertronic Control Board (WP8206488) but have not installed it. I wanted to see if the if the other board fixed the problem.
Answer David, You will want to check to make sure that the ribbon harness from the touchpad to the control board is seated properly. if there is a good firm connection then try the control board and see if that corrects the issue.
