Jim for Model Number Frigidaire CRGR7900AS1

Dryer doesn't heat up - article I received from customer service rep says it could be one of: 1. Thermal fuse 2. Cycling thermostat 3. Igniter 4. Flame sensor 5. Gas valve coils I just put in new coils so unless they're faulty it shouldn't be those. I see the flame ignite so i'm assuming that the flame sensor and the igniter are ok - is that a fair assumption? So that leaves the thermal fuse or the cycling thermostat. Can anybody tell me what I might be missing here?

Answer

Jim, The first thing that you will want to check is the dryer venting from the blower wheel to the outside of the home. If the venting is clogged the burner will only stay lit for a short period of time as it will cause the cycling thermostat to cycle prematurely. The thermal fuse would not be the issue. If the thermal fuse were bad the unit would not fire at all. You can check the flame sensor to ensure that it is good by doing a continuity test. If the flame sensor is closed when at room temperature then it is ok and if it is showing open then it would need to be replaced.
