Answer Hello Glen, The red wire goes to the terminal marked "L" for line. The white goes to the other terminal. Green always goes to chassis ground, (the compressor housing in this case). If you are using the 2188830 to replace the start relay and overload, you will need to get two 1/8" female spade connectors to crimp onto the ends of the wires. Otherwise you will have a lose connection that will produce a no cool situation. If you do not want to use the crimp on connectors, you will need to use the relay and the overload and in this case the red wire goes to the overload, (white component). Read More...
