Ken H for Model Number Whirlpool Side by Side GD5PHAXLB01 The refrigerator/freezer seems to be cooling okay. But it sounds as though the compressor is having difficulty starting. ( several hums and then finally the compress must be starting) Compressor is hot, but running quietly. Seems to me that the starting device needs replacement. Don't see anything else that logically can be the problem.
