Phil for Model Number MDB5100AWQ maytag dishwasher Moved DW from inlaw's lake condo (rarely used) to our weekend house this weekend. All went well until a few minutes into a test cycle when smoke began pouring out both in front and into the adjacent cabinet through the hole cut for water supply/drain. Tried troubleshooting, but it never gives light codes that I have found online. Reset outside breaker, and it came back on. Decided to run it through a complete Heavy/Dry Cycle. It starts, but within a few minutes it reverts to flashing at Light Cycle and Clean. Cold water is in the bottom. The obvious conclusion I jumped to was that the board fried. However, with all that smoke going through to the next cabinet, is there something else I should look at? I don't want to burn up another board. At first glance, I didn't see any burn marks underneath near the motor. I have not pulled the front panel off yet, but will in a few weeks when I am back up there. Thanks
Answer Hello Phil, Check the electrical connection box behind the kickpanel. It is possible for a loose connection to heat up the wire and melt off insulation. Anything putting out enough heat to cause that much smoke will be visible during a quick inspection. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, September 10, 2015
