Jon P. for Model Number Whirlpool MAH4000AWW When I hit the start button the machine begins to cycle but the door locked light does not light up. Soon it will stop running. I can press the start again and it will continue for a while then stop again. Eventually the door lock light may light and it will keep running. What part(s) might be damaged?
Answer Hello Jon. You will need to check and see if the R-11 resistor on the control board WP22002989 is burnt. Also test the door lock switches WP22002162. Make sure they are operating correctly. NC should read closed and NO should read open. When you press the button, they should reverse. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. Hope this helps. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...
