Rachel for Model Number ED5LVAXWS00 Our ice maker is not dispensing ice. I can hear the motor working when I press the lever, but the auger does not spin the ice at all. I have experimented with different scenarios and here is what I know: the auger will spin when there is no ice in the container, the drive shaft rod spins when the lever is pushed, and the auger can be manually turned without ice present. I have also tried scooting the drive shaft coupling down so the drive shaft reaches higher into the ice bucket coupling; but that didn't seem to work either. At this point I am thinking the ice bucket coupling is stripped...but I am unsure. Any advice? Thanks
Answer Rachel, It would be unlikely that the ice bucket coupling is stripped. This issue would most likely be bad gears inside the motor that is not allowing the auger to turn with any pressure against it. This would require the motor to be replaced. Read More...
