Mr. D. for Model Number maytag MDB4709AWB No power at the consol. There is power to the door switch and to the thermal overload and even power to the circuit board. I ohmed the door switches and the thermal overload they checked ok. Ribbon appears intact and contacts are clean. How do I determine whether its the contol board or the control panel ?
Answer Hi. Remove the lower panel and find the tech sheet behind it or in with the control board. Remove the inner door panel to retrieve it and put the unit into a diagnostic mode. It will bring up a code that allows you to diagnose the total circuit. Use a volt/ohm meter part # MA-DM1 to assist you in your diagnostics. Look down at the float stem to see if it has fallen off the float switch part # WP8268909. Sometimes the Standpipe (side cover) part # WPW10175383 will come loose and the float lever part # WP8268892 slides off to one side not allowing the water fill. Thank You. Read More...
