Richard, You will want to check the elements to make sure that they are good. You can check continuity of them or the resistance of the elements and do a visual check looking for breaks or bad spots in the element. There is also a relay on the back of the unit that you will want to check to make sure that it is good. Check the relay for voltage in and voltage out. This relay is the most likely cause for the unit not working. The part number of the relay is 9751948.
