Mike for Model Number KESH307HBS4

Replacing Dual Broil Element Part # WP9750967 (AP6013892) & wires slipped into back of range casing so just had to remove the back casing of range to insert terminals onto the Dual Broil Element, which was simple. Question is one wire is blue & the other is purple on the left side of the range looking at it from the rear. One terminal on the element is vertical (outer one) & the other is horizontal (inner one). Does it matter which wire goes onto which terminal on the element? Would the blue wire go onto the vertical terminal of the broil element & purple on the horizontal terminal or vice versa? I have a photo if that helps. Thanks.

Hello Mike, the violet (purple) wire connects to the outer broil element terminal, the blue wire connects to the convection element terminal as per the wiring diagram.

Heidi, If the broil and bake are not working properly then this issue would most likely be caused by a faulty.

Hello Gary, The inner part of the element is used as the convection element. It will cycle on alternating with the bake element during a convection cycle.

Richard, You will want to check the elements to make sure that they are good. You can check continuity of them or the resistance of the elements and do a visual check looking for breaks or bad spots in the element. There is also a relay on the back of the unit that you will want to check to make sure that it is good. Check the relay for voltage in and voltage out. This relay is the most likely cause for the unit not working. The part number of the relay is 9751948.

Hello Bob. You need to test the element and make sure it reads closed for continuity. Both the bake and broil. If the elements are good, test and see if there is 240 volts coming to the unit. If so, test and see if the clock relay is sending power to the element. If no replace the clock in the unit. You can test all of this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html

Hello Jill! Check to make sure that the bake element is getting 220/240v. If its not you will need to check to make sure all the wiring from the electronic board to the bake element is ok. If the wiring is ok the electronic control may need to be replaced, part number 3191106. Hope this information helps you, thanks!
