Craig for Model Number WED8410SW1 duet sport Electric dryer control panel is dead. The light in the drum comes on when the door opens. I have tested the continuity for the thermostat on the blower and the thermistor, the heating element and the breakers on the heater. Also tested continuity of wiring to the moisture sensor and tested the door switch. I have performed several of the control board tests. How do I test the continuity of the moisture sensor itself? I put a wet cloth on the metal strips and multimeter on the sensor terminals and multimeter showed a number like 120. (not zero) How do I test the control panel? I first suspected the control board, but now am thinking its the control panel that went bad.
Answer Hello Craig, You should pull the tech sheet and use the diagnostic test mode to determine the issue. If you cannot enter this mode due to the control panel being blank, check all of the connections between the boards and verify voltage to the display board. If voltage is getting to the display board and there is no display, replace the user interface board WP8571920.
