This replacement part is a control board for an ice maker. Control boards serve as the main computer that controls the functions of the ice machine. Before installing this part, unplug the ice maker and pull it away from the wall. Then unthread screws of the access cover to the control panel. Use a putty knife to pry the cover off and proceed to remove the screws securing the top panel. Use a nut driver to remove the rear panel. Lift the top panel up and have someone hold it upright. Remove the screws that hold the control housing on the top panel. Once control housing has been released, remove the screws securing the grounding wire to set the panel aside. Then with a Phillips head screwdriver, unthread the screws that hold the control board. Depress the tab to release the board. Note the orientation of the wire connectors and disconnect them from the board. Re-secure the wire connectors to their correct terminals and pop the new control board back in place. Reinstall the panels that were removed. This genuine replacement part is a control board compatible with Whirlpool, Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Sears/Kenmore brand ice machines.

Lolo for Model Number Kuis185jbl0

Had to turn it off. Was cycling.. Getting very hot. Not cooling down at proper cycle. Making ice. Then grid with slab heated up and dripped water melting the already created ice below. I have replaced the pump 4 years ago and re-wired one direction of the wire cutter. (Any chance the cutter wires are crossing something causing this issue?) Would love to keep the machine functional. But a little afraid. Last time got really hot and blistered paint on adjacent kick board.. Would consider a new panel but concerned it might not be the issue. And although I am handy can't find any details on how to do this panel circuit board. Your advice please. Thanks

Answer

Lolo, If the unit is getting really hot from under the unit then you will want to check to make sure that the coils are clean and the condenser fan motor which is located behind the condenser is running. If it is not then check to make sure that it is getting power. It would have to be done when the compressor is running. If there is power to it then replace the fan if not running. Also check the cutter grid to make sure that the grid is not broken causing the ice to not cut through.
