Jennifer November 23, 2018 for Model Number KUIS185JSS0 I have a kitchenaid under counter ice maker that the circulation pump is not working i have replaced this part about 1and a half years ago so I had no trouble getting another and installing in it but it worked for a few seconds then stopped it acts like it is not getting power to the pump electrical connectors but i have been having trouble trying to test this what could cause this ? the power supply board?
1 Answer Jennifer, You should be getting 120 vac to the circulation pump when it should be running. Make sure the water level wires are not damaged. A simple tug test at the harness connector will show this. Read More...
Randy Q October 17, 2018 for Model Number KUIA15NRHS6 ISSUE: 1. Not making full thickness slabs of ice. 2. The slabs of ice are 1/2 as thick as they should be. 3. After one harvest the ice maker goes into clean mode what I tried: 1. cleaned using nisafe ice maker cleaner through the ice maker. same results. 2. replaced control board WP 2304016 3. ice still 1/2 the thickness it should be 4. after 3 harvests the ice machine goes into clean mode. what are recommendations: could I have a bad board ? sincerely randy Q
1 Answer Randy, There is a ice control thermistor located on the bottom of the evaporator assembly that would be the most likely cause with the unit. The part number will be WPW10683580. Read More...
John July 17, 2018 for Model Number KUIS155HRS3 Service light stays on. If I reset the house circuit breaker each time the unit will produce some ice only after I turn on the extra ice button, then stops making ice and service light stay on. Thanks
1 Answer John, You will want to check to make sure that the thermistors in the unit are not faulty but sounds likely that the control board will be the issue with the unit. Read More...
David P. May 31, 2018 for Model Number Whirlpool Ice Machine GI1500NDXTS0 I replaced the valve, but when I did I didn't put one of the tubes in far enough, so when I turned on the water, it squirted out and may have gone into the electrical connections. Water still flows into the bin continuously. I thought I might still have a bad valve, so I replaced it again. The water still flows constantly unless it's turned off at the source. I've been filling the bin then turning off the water at the source and it makes ice just fine. Problem is that the machine only makes ice when I'm here to turn the water source on and off. Is it possible that when I replaced the valve the first time, water went into the connections and caused a short with the control board or some other electronic component? Could this cause the valve to not close? Thanks
1 Answer Hello David, It is possible that water could have gotten into the control on select models but, for a proper diagnosis, we would need you to please verify the model number from the units' I.D. tag since it will not come up for us as a valid model number. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Read More...
Gabriel March 11, 2018 for Model Number Whirlpool ice maker Getting good water flow but no ice. The evaporates is not getting cold enough.
1 Answer Hello Gabriel. Make sure the freezer is between 0° and 5°. You need to check and see if there is power going to the water valve when the icemaker cycles. If so, replace the water valve on the unit. If not, or the icemaker does not cycle, you will need to replace the icemaker on the unit. Also, check and make sure the fill tube on the unit is not frozen and clogged. If so, replace the water valve and thaw out the fill tube. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3. Here is a link on how to use a multi-meter. http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/oven-repair-including-ranges-cooktops/4810-how-check-continuity-ohmmeter.html Read More...

1 Answer Hello Willie. If the harvest mode is not working then the control board WP2304016 is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
Pete April 03, 2016 for Model Number GI1500XHS6 Compressor not coming on. Everything else is working fine that I can see. Compressor not getting power. Checked resistance on bin and evaporator and grid thermisters and I have resistance in each one. I jumped the compressor straight from electrical outlet and compressor came on. With the unit on and the compressor running, it's making ice again. Overload and relay are ok. Compressor just not getting power. Can it be the pc board? Ice maker model#GI1500xhs6
1 Answer Pete, If all components are working except the compressor then yes the issue would be in the control board WP2304016. Read More...
Mike July 30, 2015 for Model Number KUIS185JBL When I start the ice making cycle, Water supply does not shut off pump does not start and water overflows in to holding bin. When put in cleaning mode Pump and Compressor run. as it runs through cycle pump and compressor are off and water overflowing into holding bin. Water supply continues to run.
1 Answer Hello Mike. It should do this for a little while and then go into a cycle. If not, then it sounds like the board is bad and will need to be replaced on the unit. Read More...
