David P. for Model Number Whirlpool Ice Machine GI1500NDXTS0 I replaced the valve, but when I did I didn't put one of the tubes in far enough, so when I turned on the water, it squirted out and may have gone into the electrical connections. Water still flows into the bin continuously. I thought I might still have a bad valve, so I replaced it again. The water still flows constantly unless it's turned off at the source. I've been filling the bin then turning off the water at the source and it makes ice just fine. Problem is that the machine only makes ice when I'm here to turn the water source on and off. Is it possible that when I replaced the valve the first time, water went into the connections and caused a short with the control board or some other electronic component? Could this cause the valve to not close? Thanks
Answer Hello David, It is possible that water could have gotten into the control on select models but, for a proper diagnosis, we would need you to please verify the model number from the units' I.D. tag since it will not come up for us as a valid model number. Thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Thursday, May 31, 2018
