Terry for Model Number Stove / Oven / Range Bake Element - Y04000066 Bake Element used on some Maytag brand Stove / Oven / Lower oven element after turning it on and waiting for it to preheat, made a pop noise, when I looked inside it had caught on fire. I know how to replace the element but my concern is...is this normal for an element and/or could it have been cause by an electrical problem? I have had elements just burn out over time but never had one pop and catch on fire.
Answer Hello Terry. As long as the element did not short out the clock, you should be fine just replacing the element WPY04000066 in the unit.
