C French for Model Number Whirlpool DU1345XTVB1 My dishwasher won't turn on. After reading information about the float 8268913, I checked and found that it moves freely up and down. According to the information I read, this means I need to replace it. Would this part being defective cause my dishwasher not to run?
Answer Hello C French. The float should move up and down freely. However, you should test the float switch WP8268909 to see if it is good. If not, it will prevent the unit from filling. You can test this with a multi-meter TJMA-DMT3.
