Dalon H. for Model Number Sears Kenmore Elite Dishwasher My dishwasher was leaking at part number 8545880. When I removed the part I found that it was gummed up with food residue. I cleaned the part and the area around the opening for the part. I visually inspected the part and found no cracks in the part or tears in the rubber seal washer. I put the part back together in the dishwasher. There is a cap that sits on top of the tube inside the dishwasher with a long stem that goes through the part to activate the switch. When I took the cap off I had to pull and it made a popping sound when it came off. When I put it back on it now sits freely. Is the cap supposed to free float or should it click when it goes back on? I don't want water to run down the tube.
Answer Hi Dalon. There is a float switch part # 8193506. The float assy. is part # WPW10077871. If the float is not smooth on the stem, it will catch and not ride up and down easily. Thank You. Read More... Answered by AppliancePartsPros.com | Friday, December 23, 2011
