Luther W for Model Number Kitchenaid KUIS18NNJW4 Kitchenaid KUIS18NNJW4 Unit makes ice sheet which continues to build up and fails to slide on to wire cutting grid. It continues to build ice till with more ice sheet thickness. The flow of circulating water is blocked causing it to spill over and out of the water reservoir letting the recirculating pump run dry. What triggers the ice sheet to slide on to the cutting grid?? Any help for this problem??
Answer Luther, There is a thermistor that is located on the bottom of the evaporator that senses the thickness of ice and should allow the ice to drop down to the cutter grid. You will want to check this sensor to make sure that it is not bad. You should also run a clean cycle to make sure that there is not mineral build up on the evaporator. Read More...
