Customer Questions and Answers for Refrigerator Ice Dispenser Guide by Whirlpool

Hello Marilyn, thank you for contacting AppliancePartsPros.com The only component within this unit that would prevent water being dispensed and the icemaker from making ice is the water valve WP2188542, otherwise the icemaker and water dispenser are fully independent of each other. If there is water to the valve and voltage there when calling for water at the dispenser then the valve would need to be replaced.
