Hello Dave, You would actually be testing for 240Vac to the dryer from the home supply at the terminal block. This is done by removing the cover where the power cord connects to the dryer and testing with an AC Voltage test meter from the red wire on one end of the terminal block to the black wire on the other end of the terminal block. If you test from either outside terminal to the center terminal, (which is neutral), you should read 120Vac.
