Rich for Model Number LEQ9508PW0 Whirlpool Dryer I replaced the heating element because a coil was broken. When I turned the dryer on, it was working for a few minutes with hot air. Then the hot air stopped but the dryer continued to blow cold air. I order a new thermostat but when I went to install it, the dryer only has two wires versus three. I know one wire goes to the Heating element input, but I am not sure where to install the other on.
Answer Rich, Presumably you replaced the hi limit thermostat WP3977767 in which case the extended "tab" on the new thermostat attaches to one of the element terminals, the red wire from the motor attaches to the other element terminal and the remaining red wire will attach to the terminal on the new thermostat Read More...
