Ron for Model Number KDRS407VSS04 WHILE OPENING THE OVEN DOOR THERE WAS A LOUD BANG NOISE AND IT APPEARS THAT THE DOOR NO LONGER HAS SPRINGS WHILE OPENING AND CLOSING. NOW I CAN NOT REMOVE THE DOOR FOLLOWING ALL INSTRUCTIONS WITH THE HING LOCK. WITH LATCH IN PLACE THE DOOR WILL ONLY GO TO THE 45 DEGREE ANGLE AND IT DOES NOT DROP. NEED HELP ON HOW TO REMOVE THE DOOR.
Answer Hello Ron, unfortunately, there is no recommended procedure for this problem. The door hinge has failed on one side and this is a heavy oven door assembly. You can try locking the working hinge to the open position and at least two people (one on each side) try to lift the door up and out of the oven frame. If it still will not come out you can try to disassemble the door one piece at a time taking pics while you do do it until you are able to remove the door hinges from the inner door frame then out of the oven frame, lastly, if this is not practical, suggest you call in a service technician for the repair.
