The Icemaker Motor Module is an OEM part for Whirlpool refrigerators. This module is the heart of the icemaker, responsible for controlling the ice production cycle. It manages the timing, water fill, and ice tray ejection, ensuring that your refrigerator consistently produces and dispenses ice.

Symptoms of a bad Icemaker Motor Module include:

  • The icemaker failing to produce ice,
  • Ice cubes not ejecting into the bin,
  • The icemaker making unusual noises during operation.

Causes of motor module failure typically involve mechanical wear from continuous use, electrical failures such as short circuits, or water damage affecting the electronic components.

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Todd for Model Number KSRS27iSS02

Ice maker stopped working about two weeks ago after 7 plus years. First replace water filter. Then when that did not work, I ordered (separately) the emitter/receiver and then later the control module unit from your company. Very prompt delivery both times. Replacement of emitter/receiver began the light/optics properly (so I do believe they were bad or broke in the cascading failure of the ice making process). Still no ice, so I then ordered and replaced the entire contol unit. Happliy, first batch of ice was made in about 2 hours. Decided to remove control unit to clean out tray (in part, it looked like grease was inside). Now ice maker makes one batch but 0 ice stays frozen in the tray - it cannot remove it with the emitter arms. Requires me to pour some water on ice, it loosens it and then I can remove it. Did I remove necessary "grease"? Does the machine loosen the ice similarly? How can I correct/repair? I do not believe the water/solenoid is bad since it is delivering water through the door and has made ice multiple times since parts were replaced. I am close to calling a repair person as I seem to be loosing my ability to repair - my wife is having a field day with this. Any help is greatly appreciated.
