The Ice Maker is an OEM part for Whirlpool refrigerators. It automates the ice production within the freezer, providing a steady and reliable supply of ice cubes.

Causes of a bad Ice Maker can include malfunctioning water valves, clogged filter systems, or issues with the thermostat that affect ice production. Additionally, mechanical failures in the ice ejector arms or the heating mechanism that releases the ice can prevent proper functioning.

Symptoms of a bad Ice Maker include:

  • No ice production or very slow ice production
  • Ice cubes that are smaller or larger than normal
  • Ice that tastes odd or smells bad
  • Loud noises during the ice-making process

This OEM part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

Hello Jeff, the 01 reading in test 45 for ice maker fill indicates the main control board has not detected the flex tray of the ice maker has fully rotated back to the "home position" which is level, to be able to accept the water fill, since you found a wire broken and repaired it there may be another wire problem, suggest you access the ice maker and lower freezer door hinge and check the ice maker wire harness wires end to end for continuity and possible short to ground next. If no power to ice maker after a test unplug the ref from power for a minute to reset the control board timer,, it is designed to cut power to the ice maker after a harvest for a short time to prevent a possible double water fill.
