The Ice Maker is an OEM replacement part for Whirlpool refrigerators. It is responsible for producing ice cubes to fill the ice bucket in the freezer. The ice maker utilizes water from the refrigerator's internal supply line and electricity to slowly freeze water into individual ice cubes.

Causes of a bad ice maker can include worn components that affect its ability to properly freeze water, malfunctions in the electronic control board that regulate the process, or issues with the supply line.

Symptoms of a bad ice maker include:

  • Failure to produce ice cubes
  • Incorrect sized or shaped ice
  • Excessive noise during operation
  • Water in the freezer

This OEM replacement part is also compatible with Maytag, KitchenAid, Jenn-Air, Amana, Magic Chef, Admiral, Norge, Roper, and Kenmore models.

NOTE: 8 cube icemaker Includes two wire harnesses and shut off arm.

Jon for Model Number MFI2665XEM6

I have a Maytag Fridge model # MFI2665XEM6 and the ice maker isn't making ice, will not fill with water. but you can hear it cycle every 5 minutes. (you can hear it rotate like its trying to dump the cubes) but after it does not fill with water. then 5 minutes later it cycles again. This will do this all day long even if I turn off the ice maker at the door. I get water through the door so I know the line isn't plugged up. Any ideas on why it won't fill with water?

Answer

Jon, It sounds like you have either a fill tube frozen up to the ice maker or you have a water valve for the ice maker that is bad. I would recommend checking these and if further issues you can call and speak to one of our reps at 1-877-477-7278
